The Philadelphia Eagles have found their identity and have the most rushing yards in the NFL over the last three games and are now the top rushing team in the NFC. Only the Baltimore Ravens and Cleveland Browns have more rushing yards in the NFL.
Rushing yards per game over the last three weeks:
1. Eagles – 208.7 yards per game
2. Patriots – 159 yards per game
3. Colts – 156.7 yards per game
4. Ravens – 152 yards per game
Despite losing young star running back, Miles Sanders, due to injury, the signing of veteran Jordan Howard combined with the speed of young Boston Scott have been given the chance to get carries and have made the most of them.
Eagle fans through the first few games of the season were calling for head coach Nick Sirianni’s job due to his lack of a running game, and after he finally decided to run the ball more, the Birds are seeing offensive success and are winning games.
By establishing the running game, it has taken a lot of pressure off of young quarterback, Jalen Hurts, who has been able to make plays with his feet and arm lately and once again showed the fans the exciting potential of Hurts. It also helps that the Birds have a legit wide receiver with rookie sensation DeVonta Smith.
Miles Sanders returns to the lineup this week against the New Orleans Saints and fans are expecting more rushing success to finish the season strong.
