An ugly trend is continuing for the Philadelphia Eagles.
After last season, most Philadelphia Eagles fans thought there was no way that the Eagles could have any more trouble at the offensive line position. Honestly, how would it be possible? Well, it looks like that ugly trend is continuing into the 2021 season.
The Eagles released their official inactive's for their Week 4 matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs, and a name on there was a shocking last-minute add. The Birds announced along with Gardner Minshew, Jordan Mailata, and Marion Tulpulotu; Pro Bowl right tackle Lane Johnson will be inactive for this game.
It is being reported that Johnson's absence is due to personal reasons. While we all hope everything is okay, this is coming at a terrible time. The Eagles are now down to only one remaining starter on the offensive line, center Jason Kelce. Here is the look at who the Philadelphia Eagles are missing on their o-line.
-LT, Jordan Mailata
-LG, Isaac Seumalo (IR)
-RG, Brandon Brooks (IR)
-RT, Lane Johnson
Here is the most likely offensive lineup heading into this Week 4 matchup.
LT, Andre Dillard
LG, Nate Herbig
C, Jason Kelce,
RG, Landon Dickerson
RT, Jack Driscoll.
Not ideal at all for this team to be taking more offensive line changes. The Chiefs' defensive line and defense, in general, is last in the league in almost every category, so the opportunity for the Eagles to control the line of scrimmage is fading away quickly.
The loss of Johnson is tough news for this team, and hopefully, the line holds for quarterback Jalen Hurts
